The 7- day NSS special camp came to a befitting close at Shivalik Public School, Mohali with the Assistant Director Youth Services , SAS Nagar, Ms. Rupinder Kaur gracing the occasion with her august presence, along with Principal, Shivalik Institute of Education and Research Dr.(Ms.) Jyoti Soni and Principal of the School, Mrs. Anupkiran Kaur. The Guest Speaker of the day, S. Sukhwant Singh, District training Officer, Red Cross Society, S.A.S.Nagar apprised the NSS volunteers with ‘First aid and its importance’. The student volunteers, Asavari and Bhanvi of class +1 show cased the day-wise activities through a power point presentation which included visit to traffic park, rally on swach bharat and road safety at the adopted village, Daon, visit to GuruAsra Trust, Paraplegic Rehabilitation Centre, Mohali and visit to Verka Milk Plant. The students also got an opportunity to interact with Mr.Rajeshwar Singh, Law Officer , State Legal Services Authority, Chandigarh on ‘Cyber Crime’, workshop on life skills by Ms.Urvashi Bhatia was awe inspiring and motivating. The students presented Nukkad Nataks on the themes, ‘Road safety’ and ‘Swachh Bharat Abhyan’ separately which were also the twin themes of the camp. For their excellent effort and contribution, the following students were honoured :

  6. Best in Discipline                              : Karman Singh, Danish Verma

In her address, the Chief Guest apprised the volunteers about the various schemes of NSS and how students could be benefitted.

At the end, the vote of thanks was proposed by Principal, Ms. Anupkiran Kaur in which the students were motivated to do their best and to up hold the ideals of NSS. The function concluded with Nation Anthem.
